Skai HealthBook a Consultation

Medically supervised weight loss in Dubai. Led by a world-class clinical team.

There’s no shortage of places offering weight loss medication right now. What’s harder to find is the proper clinical care around it, which is what determines whether the result lasts and whether you come out of it healthier than you went in. At Skai, weight and hormone management sit inside concierge primary care, with the bloodwork, body composition, nutrition, strength assessment and ongoing supervision built around it from the start.

The question isn’t “what’s the quickest result?”, it’s “how is this being supervised, and what protects the result over time?”

The Skai approach

Medical optimisation. Not trend-driven treatment.

Hormones and metabolism shape how you feel, function, and age. When they shift, the effects are gradual: changes in energy, body composition, sleep, or resilience that are easy to overlook. At Skai, weight and hormone optimisation is approached as part of primary care, guided by data, clinical judgement, and long-term outcomes.

Decisions around medically supervised weight management and hormone therapy, including TRT and HRT, are considered carefully, monitored closely, and adjusted over time. The focus is on restoring physiological balance and preserving lean mass and metabolic health: not chasing numbers, not short-term fixes.

Why this matters

Losing weight on its own isn’t the hard part anymore.

The newer medications genuinely work, and the trial evidence shows average weight loss of around 15 to 20 per cent. The harder question is whether you lose it well, because the same evidence shows that without the right care around treatment, a significant share of that loss comes from muscle rather than fat, your metabolism slows, and most of the weight tends to come back within a year of stopping.

Your hormones shift through all of this too, including thyroid, insulin, the sex hormones and the appetite-regulating hormones that shape how your body responds to food. If those changes aren’t being watched and managed, the gains can quietly unwind over the months that follow. Done properly, medically supervised weight loss is as much about protecting your muscle, your metabolic health and your hormonal balance as it is about the number on the scale. That’s the difference between a prescription and a programme.

Who it’s for

A Smarter, More Complete Approach to Health Change

This is worth considering if you want to lose weight properly and want the clinical care around it done well. It tends to be particularly relevant for people who’ve tried before and watched the weight come back, for anyone worried about losing muscle alongside fat, for those whose bloodwork or hormones suggest there’s more going on than just calories, and for anyone who’d rather have this integrated with the rest of their health than running as a separate thing in a separate clinic.

What’s included

Comprehensive, coordinated, and clear.

We start with a full clinical assessment.

That means comprehensive bloodwork covering the metabolic markers (fasting glucose, HbA1c, insulin, lipids, liver and kidney function) and a full hormonal profile (thyroid, sex hormones, cortisol, and the appetite hormones where relevant), alongside a proper review of your history with a clinician. We want to understand your body before we change it.

We also carry out a DEXA scan

The gold standard for measuring body composition. It gives us a precise breakdown of your fat, muscle and bone density, so we know your real starting point and can see exactly what’s changing as you go. Weight alone doesn’t tell us enough. DEXA does.

HeartSpan

HeartSpan, our medical CPET, measures how your heart and lungs actually perform under load. Your VO₂ max is one of the strongest predictors of long-term health, and measuring it properly at the start tells us how your body responds to exertion, where to push, where to hold back, and gives you a baseline you can train against safely.

A dietitian works with you.

A dietitian works with you on how you actually eat, rather than handing over a generic meal plan. Nutrition through medical weight loss has specific work to do, including enough protein to protect your muscle, enough overall nutrition to feel well through the programme, and a way of eating that holds when treatment ends. The plan is built around what the evidence shows actually works.

Strength training.

Our sports and performance team carries out a physical assessment and builds a training plan with resistance work at its core. Strength training is the single most evidenced way to protect muscle through weight loss, and it matters here for two reasons. It keeps your metabolism higher, which protects the result, and it’s one of the strongest things you can do for how well you age.

Bloodwork Points

Where your bloodwork points to it, HRT or TRT is considered as part of the wider picture rather than offered as a separate service. Decisions are guided by your symptoms, your results and current clinical guidelines, and reviewed as your body responds.

Throughout, your clinical team reviews progress at regular intervals with repeat bloods and body composition, refining the plan as your body changes through the programme. You’re not collecting a prescription and figuring the rest out alone.

How it works

A Complete, Clinically-Guided Weight Loss Program

The first step is a full clinical picture, with bloodwork, your metabolic and hormonal profile, a DEXA body composition scan, and where appropriate a HeartSpan CPET and a strength assessment. From there, your clinical team walks you through the options in plain language and builds a plan with you, including medication where it’s appropriate, with nutrition and training designed around it. Treatment then starts with the full team supporting you, and the plan is reviewed at regular intervals with repeat bloods and body composition tracking as your body changes.

The Skai difference

Weight management isn’t treated as a service that sits outside the rest of your care.

Skai Health clinical team environment

Your programme is led by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and physicians trained in the UK and US, with expertise across primary care, cardiology, hormone and peptide medicine, nutrition, and sports and performance. The team works together rather than separately, which means what we learn from your bloodwork shapes what your dietitian recommends, what we see in your DEXA and CPET shapes your training plan, and your progress is read by people who are all looking at the same picture.

Weight management isn’t treated as a service that sits outside the rest of your care. It sits inside concierge primary care at Skai, alongside everything else we know about your health, which is what allows the plan to be genuinely personal and properly reviewed over time.

We track body composition with DEXA rather than weight on its own, because the goal isn’t just to be lighter. It’s to lose fat while protecting the muscle, bone density and metabolic health that determine how well you age. The approach is grounded in current evidence on GLP-1 medications, muscle preservation, hormonal health and long-term metabolic outcomes, rather than a generic protocol.

Before you book

Your questions, answered.

Is this just Ozempic or Mounjaro?

Medication may be part of the plan, but we spend time doing a thorough baseline assessment first. That includes your bloodwork, your metabolic and hormonal profile, a DEXA body composition scan and a clinician-led review of your history, so any decision about medication is the right one for your body rather than a default. If medication is appropriate, the choice between the available options is based on your clinical picture, not a default prescription.

Will I lose muscle?

Do you offer hormone therapy?

What happens if I stop the medication?

How long does it take?

Who leads my care?

I just want to lose a few kilos. Is this overkill?

Because tomorrow's health starts with today's decision.
